March 4, 1938 – February 8, 2025
John died peacefully surrounded by his family on February 8, 2025 at the age of 86.
John was predeceased by his beloved wife Beverley (2022), to whom he was married for 62 years.
Loving father to John (Jack) & Karen, Jeff & Sherry, Janice & Murray Opsteen and Julie & Matt
Walsh.
Proud Grandpa to Jeremy Feenstra & Kim Kalteis, Jeffrey & Uli Feenstra, Danielle & Scott McCormick, John Dauphinee, Rachel, Owen & Grace Opsteen and Avery Walsh.
He was a delighted Great Grandpa to Freya Feenstra and Spencer McCormick.
Dear brother of Stella & Bill Lekx, Hans & Elaine Feenstra, and Stan & Mary Feenstra. Brother-in-law and friend to Valda & Larry May. John was predeceased by his parents Charlie & Baukje Feenstra and his sisters Teena and Anna.
He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Dr. Marshall and Ashley for their dedication to ensuring John’s quality of life over the past few months. Thank you to Dr. Soliman and the nurses at MDH for their kind and compassionate care in his final days.
Visitors will be received at McKersie & Early Funeral Home, 114 Main St. E., Milton, ON, (905) 878-4452 on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral service honouring John will take place on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 1:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.
