Obituary of Elizabeth Weir
Weir- Elizabeth Patricia (Nee Emberson) of Glendale Crossing Residence passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the age of 90. Dearly loved wife of the late Robert Weir (2019), and loved mother of Mary-Ellen and her husband Terry Fisher, and Rob and his wife Lisa Weir. Loved Gran of Braden (Jane), Megan (Damon Lyons), Michael (Kirsten), Ellie and Colin, and GG of Greyson and Madi. She was predeceased by her brother Bud and late Norma Emberson, and dearly loved cousin of Elizabeth Irwin (late Edward). She is lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Elizabeth was born March 28, 1934 in Hamilton, the daughter of the late Alfred and Nellie (Tuohy) Emberson. She formerly worked at the Ford Oakville Plant and had retired from Bell Canada. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks for the many years of compassionate nursing care by Karen Black and all the staff at Glendale Crossing.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Justin’s Parish, 855 Jalna Blvd London, on Saturday February 1 at 11:00 am. Private interment at a later date. Donations can be made to the CNIB or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in memory of Elizabeth. A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, February 9, at the Lamplighter Inn (Chelsea Room), 591 Wellington Rd., London, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm., with words of remembrance at 2:00 pm.
