Katie Annie Bjornson (Cowdrey) Obituary
It’s with heavy hearts that the family of Katie Annie Bjornson (Cowdrey) announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, January 23, 2025, in her 97th year. She had been a resident of Ridgeview Lodge, Kamloops, BC. At this time, we’d like to thank the staff for their years of care, services and kindness. We would also like to acknowledge Tara, her personal care attendant, for the many happy hours, that she and Mom shared!

She is survived by her younger sister, Gwen Lukey and younger brother Wayne (Darlene) Hiebert.
Katie will be deeply missed by her daughters, Carol (Bill) Greenhalgh and Elaine (Jack) McGrath; her son Marvin Bjornson, as well as her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Hale. She will be also missed by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Keith (Heather) Greenhalgh, Ben and Liam; Cathy (Shon) Mckay. She is predeceased by her husband, Carl Bjornson (2009); son Brad Bjornson (2009); granddaughter Lisa Curran (1979); sisters Susie Herman (2017), and Jane Fellers (2013).
Katie was humble and enjoyed the simpler things in life. Having lived on a farm, she loved animals, and nature was part of her daily life. She loved the seasons and kept a large garden. Katie was always busy with projects whether it was knitting, sewing, crafting or painting. Her artwork adorns walls of our extensive family’s homes. Music was always part of our household. She enjoyed singing and especially singing her favourite songs together with family.
Katie had a large address book and she never forgot to send her extended family; Anniversary cards, Birthday wishes, Valentine cards, Easter blessings, as well as Christmas greetings. Children were special; she always gave them a smile and kept one eye on them, and they in turn felt her love and caring spirit. Katie will be remembered for her generosity, her wit, her kindness and care for others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Most of all, she was a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. We love her and she will never be forgotten.
A « Celebration of Life » will be held in the summer of 2025. (to be announced)
Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
