Sharon Lana O’Meara
(Gallant), beloved wife, mother, and grandmother,
died peacefully, while surrounded by family, at the
Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PE, on Monday, January
20, 2025.
Sharon, of
Cascumpec, PE, was born on July
20, 1947, to the late Mitchell and
Noelle (Matthews) Gallant, of Cascumpec. She was the
heart and soul of our family. She has been married to her
soulmate, Austin, for 55 years, and is
the cherished mother of her two daughters Trallawny (Wade
Hulbert) O’Meara, Kensington, PE and
Tathnee (Kyle) Mackinnon, Stratford, PE.
Sharon has three grandchildren, whom she
adored, Saliece Hulbert, Tenley
Mackinnon, and Calder Mackinnon. She
is survived by her sister, Arlene
Gallant-Bernard (Randy), Mill River, PE,
and brother, Fred (Carol) Clark, of Nova
Scotia.
She was predeceased by her brother, Bill
(Linda) Clark, of British Columbia.
Sharon was a kind, compassionate LPN, who
worked at the Western Hospital, Alberton, PE, for 37 years. She will
be missed dearly by all who knew her. She was a tireless, supportive
caregiver, who loved her family and friends fiercely. Her genuine
smile would light up a room, and to know her was to love her. She was
our biggest fan, with strength and beauty that was something to
admire. She was a woman of many talents, and her love of
life’s adventures has left us with treasured memories for
which we are truly grateful.
Sharon will be forever loved and remembered by all who had
the honour of knowing her. A gentle, proud woman, who met
life’s challenges with grace, and touched the hearts of
many.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton.
Visiting hours Wednesday, January 29th from 12-3pm. Funeral
service to follow at St. Anthony’s Parish in
Bloomfield, at 4pm.

memory may be made to the PCH Foundation for their incredible
care.
