November 19, 1959 – January 10, 2025
We are saddened to announce that Brian Douglas William Davidson passed away peacefully after complications from a fall and a long struggle with ankylosing spondylitis at the age of 65, Friday January 10th at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, Ontario.
Brian was predeceased by his parents Douglas George Davidson and Eileen Mary (Kelly). He is survived by his sister Coleen Davidson (Jean Charles Carriere), his brother Patrick Davidson (Diane Weeks), nieces Darija Davidson and Dreuanah Davidson, and his nephew Zacharie Davidson-Carriere (Kayley Patterson).
Growing up in Kapuskasing Brian loved the outdoors and enjoyed many happy times at the hunting camp with his brother and father and long-time family friends the Sheremetas. When he eventually moved to Timmins, he spent many happy days with friends and family at his camp on Nighthawk Lake. He loved animals, and his numerous cats and dogs over the years added joy to his life. From an early age he was always dismantling everything and anything he could get his hands on which eventually led to his pursuit of the Aircraft Maintenance Program at Confederation College in Thunder Bay. This led to a long career and many adventures in aviation working for Austin Airways, AirCreebec and most recently at Air Inuit as a Senior Base Engineer.
Coleen and Patrick would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Leland and Trevor Proulx (Melody Gadoury) for their invaluable support and friendship to Brian. In addition, we thank Dr. Josée Thériault and the ICU team at Health Sciences North in Sudbury for their excellent care and support. Lastly, we thank Dr. Caelen Rody and the health care professionals at Timmins Hospital for their excellent care of Brian upon his admission to the ER.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Neville Funeral Home, Pembroke on Saturday, May 31st, 2025 at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Eganville, Ontario next to his parents. In lieu of flowers and gifts we invite you to donate to the Arthritis Society or to your local animal shelter.
