Daniel William Burchmen « Chickie » Quinn Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of “Chickie” Quinn, at the Halifax Infirmary, on December 17, 2024, at the age of 75.
Born on March 28, 1949, in North Sydney, he was the son of the late Sidney and Mary (Allen) Quinn. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Sheila and Ann, and brothers Andrew (in infancy), Michael, Dennis and Patty. He is survived by his daughter Lynn, grandson Hunter (the light of his life), his brothers Kevin (Gail) and Timothy, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Chickie was quite the character – a man who lived life on his own terms. He loved his family, friends and home.
Chickie worked many years as a skilled labourer, from the east coast to the west coast and anywhere in between. Many would have seen him driving all over Balls Creek “playing in the dirt” with his dumptruck.
Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held at a later date at St. Mary’s Parish Church in Frenchvale, in which he was a member. Arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. Donations in Chickie’s memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Fire Fighter’s Burn Treatment Society.
