We are saddened to announce the passing of Zoltan Szentgyorgyi, 85, on March 1st, 2024 at Toronto General Hospital.
Zoltan was born in Godollo, Hungary on June 11th, 1938, to Zoltan and Lenke (Pora) Szentgyorgyi. Arriving in Canada in 1957, he soon made a home for himself in Toronto. He will be fondly remembered by his former advertising colleagues at NDAP/TMP Worldwide and his fellow members of the Hungarian Helicon Society. An avid tennis player, Zoltan was a member of the Cricket Club for over forty years and made many enduring friendships on the courts. Always adept at connecting with others, he leaves behind countless cherished friends, and will be greatly missed by so many whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his daughter Christine (Sean), grandchildren Ashley and William, sister Eva (Gyula), and niece Marta (Philip).
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 13th at 1 p.m. at Morley Bedford Funeral Home with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the University Health Network (uhnfoundation.ca) or Sinai Health Circle of Care (circleofcare.com) would be appreciated.
