It is with great sadness that the family Yvonne Althea Biagioni announces her passing December 11, 2024, at the age of 96 at Penticton Regional Hospital.
Yvonne was born in Penticton June 1st, 1928, where she resided her entire life.
She is predeceased by her parents Rose and Nicola, brothers Elmo Biagioni (Sandy), Peter Biagioni, sister Juanita Ryan (Peter), nephew Mark Biagioni, Laura Biagioni.
She is survived by her brother Robert Biagioni (Elizabeth), Sister in-law Joan Biagioni (Peter) as well as nieces Nicole Reynolds, Sherry Solecki (John), Kathleen Biagioni (Michael Schreiner), nephews Robert Biagioni, Darcy Biagioni (Karina), Chris Biagioni (Julie), Colin Biagioni, Benjamin Biagioni, and Michael Biagioni.
Yvonne never married and was able to take care of her parents Nicola and Rose Biagioni till there passing in Penticton. There she worked for Slade and Steward for 37 years till the business closed. Yvonne was an avid golfer and was one of the founding members of the Penticton golf club. She also was part of a bridge club that she hosted weekly, and it was a great part of her social fun. She was involved with many organizations. She spent 59 years with the Penticton Business and Professional Woman’s Club and served as president twice. She was Treasurer of the Penticton Community Concerts for 29 years, as well as volunteer efforts with many community events.
Although Yvonne had family close to her through her life and end of life, there was no one closer that her nephew Colin Biagioni. He’s been a great help with her everyday life needs from doctor appointments, house maintenance to paying the bills as well as being there at end of life. Thank you, Colin. She also had friends and neighbours that were like family. A special thank you to Gert Stickland, Sam and Eva Kahrmann, Marj Whalen, Alan and Joice Haycroft, for being such special neighbours during her time living in Penticton.
The family would also like to thank the staff at Penticton Regional Hospital for their compassion during Yvonne’s short time in hospital.
A planned funeral will be held later most likely in the spring.
