It is with loving memories, we announce the passing of our dear Husband, Dad and Grandpa/Papa. Donald Wylie Young passed away peacefully on January 26th, 2023.
Don was born September 30th, 1941, in Hamilton, Ontario to Stephen and Lillian Young and is survived by his sister Elizabeth Laxson.
Don married Barbara in 1963, and together they enjoyed raising their daughters Lisa and Jackie. They were looking forward to celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary this September. He will be remembered and dearly missed by Barb, his daughter Lisa (Grahame), their sons Scott and Tyler; and daughter Jackie (Dave), their sons Ryan and Sean.
Don was a successful Executive in a variety of companies throughout his career and made close friendships and relationships with the many people he worked with. He worked hard, taking great pride in his work, and was a mentor to many throughout his career.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren, friends and family. And enjoyed playing many sports, his favorites being hockey and pickleball, and watching his beloved Canucks!
Don was a kind, considerate, compassionate man, with a wonderful sense of humour, and always quick to help others. Over the years, and in many places, he met wonderful lifelong friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life in the spring in Thornbury.
