Obituary
It is with broken hearts and heavy sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Winston Simeon Smith, on September 19, 2024, at the age of 82.
A very loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, father-in-law, brother and uncle.
Predeceased by his parents Simeon & Lillian Smith, the love of his life for 57 years Daisy Smith. Sister Mary Parrott (Sam), brothers Albert, Howard, Jimmy & Adolphus Smith. Parents in law Reuben & Susie Reid. Brothers & Sisters in law Raymond Broderick, Donald Reid, Andrew Reid, Gower (Ada) Reid, Patricia Reid, Fred Newell & Ellis Jackson.
Leaving behind with shattered hearts and a lifetime of wonderful memories his 3 children Randy Smith (Carolyn), Sue Smith (Walter Morgan) and Charmaine Brophy (Brian); grandchildren Ryan Smith, Morgan Brophy (Hady Assouad), Sydney Thorne (Shiloh Burton), Renee Morgan (Brenton Thompson), Desiree Barlow (Alex), Kayla Laybolt(Joshua Whitten), Tyler Laybolt; great-grandchildren Avaya, Callie, Ace & Renn Barlow, Myla Thompson, Hannah & Caleb Cave; sister Myrtle Broderick; brothers Robert Smith (Nellie) & Gerald Smith (Rowena); brothers & sisters-in-law Hazel Reid, Dulcie Reid, Inez Newell, Gladys Jackson, Jim & Effie Reid, Larry & Ruby Reid; along with a large loving circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held at Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo, NL, on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
Funeral service will be held from Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo, NL, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Inurnment to follow at All Saint’s Anglican Cemetery, Dildo, NL.
Flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations in Winston’s memory may be made to the Smith Family. There are so many organizations Winston would want us to support in his memory. With that being said, the family have decided they will share the donations equally at a later date.
