Obituary of William Paul Dupuis
With broken hearts, the family of William Paul Dupuis of Summerville, NB, announce his unexpected passing on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Paul was born, January 4, 1947, to the late James and Dorothy (LeBlanc) Dupuis of West Saint John.
Survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda, his children; Kimberley Dupuis of Summerville, David Dupuis (Lisa) of Quispamsis , and Brad Dupuis (Melissa) of Summerville, sisters; Joanne McGillivray (Bud), Margaret Phillips (Rick), Deborah Mitton (Keith), brothers; Stephen Dupuis (Jeannine), Gerard Dupuis, and Leo Dupuis, grandchildren; Jordan Dockrill (Emily), Abbey Estey (Jontaylor), Jenna Dupuis, Leeya Dupuis, and Will Dupuis, great granddaughter Eliza Jo Estey. sisters-in-law: Cathy Dupuis, and Kim Dupuis, brother-in-law Ronald Hamm, Frank Hamm (Sandra), and Hodges Hamm (Lorraine). Paul is also survived by many cousins, nephews, nieces, and extended family.
Paul was predeceased by his loving parents, many kind and caring aunts, uncles and cherished great nephew, Brandon Rice.
Paul was blessed in having many good friends over the years. Friends who supported and encouraged him in golf, card play, and his many business ideas. His good friends; Walter, Chris, Frank, Patrick, and Ian. His friends and acquaintances were very important to him and his expectations of what the definition of a good friend was, surpassed many times over.
Paul was a retired and proud member of Local 502 IBEW. His health prevented him from continuing in the trad he loved but was always appreciative of the support of his Union, given during his illness and beyond.
Although not well, he never let negativity get in the way of his dreams for his family. He was a dreamer with many great ideas. Some he was able to bring to fruition, some not so.
He had a heart of gold and always made himself available to walk with people in their time of need. His main focus was to see his children “settled”; accomplishments achieved. The pride he had in his daughter and sons pleased him to no end. His love for his family was overwhelming. Everything he did was for family.
Paul was full of life, loved people and loved sharing his ideas, his sense of humour and his opinions of a political nature with anyone who would listen.
In the past few years, he wrote many poems, poems that always had a message. Another accomplishment achieved.
Twenty-five years ago, he and Linda co-founded Cherished Pet Memorial Services. Founded in memory of “Kibbles”. A tribute to all pets who deserved a final and respectful after-life care. Now with Paul’s encouragement and influence, the business has passed onto his children. Another accomplishment achieved. We are so blessed to have had him to love and cherish. And Paul’s response would be “That’s the kind of guy I am.”
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119). A Celebration of Paul’s life will be held in the Summer of 2023. Bringing all family and friends together is what would have brought him much joy and happiness. Remembrances in memory of Paul can be made to the Earthquake in Turkey & Syria – Humanitarian Coalition, would be appreciated. Online condolences may be made at www.kennebecasisfh.com
Mind at Peace – by Paul Dupuis
My mind is at peace
The calm before the storm
Everything is still
Upon the land and sky.
My eye’s take in all I see
A knowing is revealed
A deep acceptance I feel
Of all things.
I am present inside and out
A oneness and wonder
Is what it’s about.
No need to interpret
For understanding is present here
I feel excitement,
A oneness in my heart.
Clarity is everything
To be, is to witness
With grace to understand
What Creator created all this?
Silence speaks to all who listen
Few have been able to find this place
Where everything
Is in its proper place.
