William Stanley
«Bill» Crosby – 86, of Coldbrook, passed
away in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on Friday, November 29,
2024. Born in Woodstock, Yarmouth Co. He was a son of the late Joseph
and Gertrude «Hattie» (Ellis) Crosby.
Prior to retirement,
Bill was the owner and operator of Cedar Court Developments Ltd.,
working as a building contractor and land developer throughout Nova
Scotia. In retirement, Bill and Betty were snowbirds, travelling to
their home in Florida every winter, where Bill enjoyed many days out
on the water fishing with friends in his pontoon boat. Bill was an
avid antique car enthusiast and had many antique restorations. He
visited many car shows both in Nova Scotia and Florida, bringing a
wealth of knowledge with him wherever he was. Bill and Betty also
enjoyed square and round dancing for many years.
Bill is survived by
his loving wife of 40 years, Betty (Langille); daughter, Marianne
Crosby; stepdaughter, Lynne Burrell; sister, Patricia Lloyd;
grandchildren, Danielle (Dan), Megan, Shaun (Kristen) and Jessica;
great-grandchildren, Hadley, Kinley, Addison and Charlotte; as well as
several nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to his
parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Beverly (Beck); their
son, Danny Crosby; son-in-law, James Schofield; brothers, John
«Jack» and Russell Crosby; and sisters, Betty Lyons,
Emmeline Ackles and Dorothy Butler.
Cremation has taken
place and there will be no visitation, by request. A funeral service
will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 with a
reception to follow. Reverend Ivan Norton officiating. Interment will
take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville. Donations in memory may be
made to the Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia. Funeral arrangements
have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation
