It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our William Michael «Mike» Cowie after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mike will be deeply missed by his loving partner Kathleen Bradshaw. He was a devoted son to Bill and Teresa Cowie (nee Barry), and a dear sibling to Gary Cowie (Nicola), Tracy Morewood (Jonathan) and Dianne Turk (Toby). He was Uncle Mikey to his nieces and nephews, whom he adored, Ian (Victoria), Sean, Kelsey and Emily Morewood and Madison and Morgan Turk. Mike will also be deeply missed by their extended family and his loving Aunt Kay Herley.
Mike graduated in Mechanical Engineering and worked locally. His latest passion was running the store, Kathleen’s Wears alongside Kathleen, making it a beloved part of the community.
He was the go-to technology expert, and everyone knew they could always rely on him for anything.
With his gentle demeanor and empathetic heart, Mike had a joy of the simple pleasures of life, particularly the family cottage and could be seen regularly making a good camp fire. We are so grateful to have had Mike as part of our lives.
Please join us for Mike’s Celebration of Life, Sunday, July 7th from 1-4 pm in the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre, 30 King Street East, Cobourg.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Mike’s name to St. Vincent DePaul Society – St. Mary’s Grafton or a Charity of your Choice.
