William (Bill) John Hux (Dec. 23rd, 1931–July 18th 2023)
Bill died surrounded by his wife of seventy years and three girls. Bill loved his family above all else, and leaves behind his childhood sweetheart, Diane, three daughters Cathy (Rudolf Kurz), Susan (Guy Gardhouse), Janet (Gary Smith), nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, with one soon to arrive, whom he would have cherished meeting. Bill and Diane moved to Orangeville in 1954, where he owned and operated an International Harvester Dealership on Broadway, later converting it into the House of Hux, a home furnishing business, from which he retired in 1988.
Bill believed strongly in community and was proud to serve his as a member of the Orangeville Lions Club for 67 years, as Chairman of Headwaters Hospital Board and Foundation, as a volunteer for the Salvation Army, and in countless other church and community programs.
Bill passed at Headwaters Hospital, where we greatly appreciated the care and kindness received from Drs. Marcella Palad, Jeff McKinnon, EMS, the D-wing staff, and nurse Sue from Bayshore Healthcare.
He will be missed.
A tree will be planted in memory of Bill in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 21st Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
