Obituary of William F. Goetz
June 8, 1930 – Kitchener, Ontario
May 7, 2023 – High River, Alberta
After having lived a fulfilled and happy life, Bill Goetz or Will as he preferred latterly, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the age of 92.
Bill is survived by his loving wife and best friend Carole, his daughter Barbara Lavery; sons, William and David all of Calgary; grandson Steven Delf (Heidi) of Calgary, granddaughters, Gillian Dubin (Josh) of Brooklyn, NY and Aden Goetz of Calgary; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Jackson and Lauren Delf; Lila, Carter and Mia Dubin. Bill was predeceased by his special friend Helen Goetz of Calgary in April of 2022, his late wife Dianne Martin of Halifax, NS, in February of 1991; parents, Stella Margaret Goetz (Callfas), Harold Goetz and his dear aunt Elda Callfas, all of Kitchener, ON, son-in law Rick Lavery of Calgary; and his lifelong buddies, Gerald Schueneman of London, ON and Carl Trapp of Elmira, ON. Bill was born and raised in Kitchener, ON. The family moved to Calgary in December of 1957, where he thereafter spent a most enjoyable and rewarding life in the City and Province he grew to love. Bill and Carole enjoyed cruising the oceans of the world but failing health limited travel and participation in most activities over the course of the last number of years.
Bill wished to thank Doctors A. Kryski and D. Exner, as well as Maria and the rest of the staff at the Foothills Cardiac Function Clinic for the wonderful treatment provided him over the past many years. It was through their kind and most professional care that Bill was able to attain and enjoy most of his “golden years»
At the request of Bill, a private Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at a later date, followed by interment in the Callfas Family plot, Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener, Ontario. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
