Suddenly but peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital on Sunday, November 5th, 2023, Bill Holmes at 83 years of age. Beloved husband of Margot Holmes (nee Smith), married and cherished for 61 years. Loving father of Lisa Bonner (Craig) and Steven Holmes (Carol Blejwas). Cherished grandfather of Kaileigh, Nora and Sienna. Dear brother of Helen LaFrance (Serge) and predeceased by his siblings Virginia, Margaret Rose, Lawrence and Daniel. A public visitation will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E. in Cobourg on Friday, February 17th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Service and reception to be held at St. Peter’s Church Saturday February 18, at 11am. Those wishing may make a memorial donation to the Northumberland Humane Society, St. Peter’s Church Restoration Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.
