William Bryan «Bill» Smith, Sgt.
Ret’d, 81, of Port Williams, passed away peacefully on
Friday, November 10, 2023, at home. Bill was the son of the late
William B. and Jessie (Nickerson) Smith. He was a member of the
Dominion of Canada Rifle Association, Nova Scotia Rifle Association,
Annapolis Valley Gun Club and the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch
No. 6, Kentville. In his retirement, he especially liked to hunt, fish
and garden. Bill is survived by his wife, Margaret
«Peggy» (Chase); son, Robert (Allison Kelly);
sister, Maxine Phinney; brother, Michael (Carol); fur baby
«grandson», Oscar the dog and extended family. He
was predeceased by siblings, Millard (Joanne), Nora (Gary) Cameron and
Randolph «Randy» (Margaret). Cremation has taken
place. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November
22, 2023 with a Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service to be held at
7:30 p.m. in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Burial will be
held at a later date in the Chipman Corner Cemetery. Donations in
Bill’s memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Kings
Branch No. 6 – Poppy Fund (in support of local veterans).
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral
