William «Bill» Brown
William “Bill” Elwood Brown – Age 69, peacefully passed away on October 14, 2024, at his home in Bible Hill. Born in Middle Musquodoboit, Bill was the son of the late Carl Brown and Willa Brown (Graham).
Bill spent the majority of his life as a well known and trusted roofer both in Ontario and Nova Scotia. He loved his work and took pride in every single job he did, big or small and had a work ethic like no other. His second passion, besides his work, was motorcycles. When he wasn’t on a roof, you could find him on his trusted iron horse cruising the province and attending any and all biker gatherings and celebrations with his friends.
He is survived by his four loving children, Shawn, Karlee (Colton), Chris and Alex; his granddaughter, Kathleen; his four loving sisters, Wanda Dunlap, Shelley Hemlow (Ken), Bonnie Watson (Wayne) and Vesta Brown; nephews, Troy, Scott, Brad and Michael (Watson); aunt, Mary Lou Higgins (Ross); great nieces, Krystle, Valerie, Lexi; great nephews, Joey, Tyler and Aiden. He is also survived by his nephew, Joe Dunlap with whom he shared a special bond and treated like a son.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his aunts, Rita Browne (Graham) and Ruby Chaplin (Graham) and grandparents, Elwood and Margaret Graham (Fulton).
Special thanks to everyone on the Palliative Care team at the CEHHC, Dr. Henderson, Dr. Kelly, Dr Smith and his personal nurses that took excellent care of him when he was in the hospital. Also, to everyone that was involved with the VON and community services during his final weeks at home. A very special thank you to Mary Petitpas for all her help and guidance.
Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) and to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Cremation has taken place. At his request, there will be no funeral service. A small graveside gathering of close friends and family will take place on Sunday, October 20th at 11:30am in Riverside Cemetery, Upper Stewiacke.
