William “Bill” Joseph Perry
1942-2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
William «Bill» Joseph Perry at his late residence on
July 1st at the age of 81 years. Bill was predeceased by his beloved
wife Leah Perry of 60 years and predeceased by his pride and joy and
loving daughter Donna Marie. Bill was a loving grampy to Kelsie and
Kendra Warren (Kayla) and took great pride in his great grandson his
«little buddy » Landon Joseph Warren.
Bill was a generous and kind soul. He was known for his great
sense of humour and his love for making others laugh. He was an
uplifting spirit for those in his company. He was proudly committed to
his sobriety for over 50 years and was strong in his
faith.
Bill had a love for music at a very young age. He was an
active member of the church choir and a member of the Barber Shop
Quartet. He would never turn down an opportunity to
dance.
Bill was a proud 4th degree member of the knights of Columbus
and an active volunteer for the Canadian Red Cross. His greatest
passion was being a life member of the Charlottetown Amateur Radio
Club and known for his handle VY2BP and nickname «grey
badger»
Bill got great happiness from his morning trips to MacDonalds
with his friends that he cherished deeply along with this favourite
breakfast – tea and a carrot muffin. He took great pride in what he
wore and will be remembered for his flashy ties , bright coloured
shirts and his best holiday outfits. He enjoyed the simple things in
life like sharing pudding with his little buddy Landon and suppers
with family, especially at Sams Restaurant.
Bill was an example of determination and never letting
anything break his stride. His bright and larger then life personality
will be greatly missed along with his great «bear
hugs»
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral
Home. No visiting hours by personal request. Funeral Mass will be
celebrated on Monday, July 8th from the Church of the Most Holy
Redeemer at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to follow in the Roman Catholic
Cemetery.
