It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Thompson of Cornwall; age 89 at the Cornwall Hospice on November 11 2024. Loving husband of the late Shirley Thompson (nee Waldroff). Loving father of Terry Thompson (Manon) of Cornwall, Blain Thompson (Trish Ellis) of Ingleside, and Pamela Atkins (Morley Dulmage) of Cornwall.
Caring grandfather to five grandchildren, Tasha Thompson (Jason Murphy), Kristen Thompson (Adam McRae), Chelsea MacDonald (Justin), Devin Atkins (Megan) and Sydney Marsolais (Rheal Paquette). Great grandfather to Addison, Myleigh, Morgan, Paisley, River, Rory, Aubrey, and Weston. Special thank you to CaitLynn (Palliative Bayshore nurse) who went above and beyond to answer calls, questions and gave the best care to our father. To Sandra Gravelle (niece) who advocated tirelessly for our father’s medical care. To Shirley Bismarck (special friend) who took such great care of our father during his time at Valley Garden. And finally to the hospice staff and volunteers who made our experience one of dignity and compassion.
Funeral Arrangements
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in St. Andrew’s on Saturday, November 16 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Cornwall Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com
