Peacefully in hospital on Thursday, June 27, 2024 age 88 years. Beloved husband and best friend for more than 68 years of Joyce (McCallum). Loving father of Kerry Lee Cook (Gandi Hammoud), and Kelly McKenna (Mike).
Cherished Poppa of Kira (Scott), Candice, Laura (Cody), Charlene (Brock) and Adam (Katie) and great grandfather of Georgia, Olivia, Katie, Michaela, Sierra, Logan, Emmett, William, Alex and Jack.
Brother of Barbara Tracey, Brian Cook (late Janet) and the late Bob Cook (late Audrey).
Brother-in-law of Carol Brown (Bill Watson) and Judy Scharf (Mel).
Bill will also be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Bill loved sports, he played hockey, golf, fastball, and was an avid curler, holding a club record of 2 eight-enders in one season. He loved animals, especially dogs, but horses held a special place in his heart. Bill enjoyed riding horses but was just as happy to sit and watch them.
Bill also dabbled in woodworking and made Kerry and Kelly each a sleigh with a cut-out to hold a potted poinsettia. Bill enjoyed gardening and was an expert at growing roses.
Bill was a 60+ year member of Goodwood Masonic Lodge (Master Mason 1973, District Deputy Grand Master 1981), Scottish Rite (Most Wise Sovereign, and Active Member for the Valley of Ottawa) and Tunis Shriners (Potentate 1998).
Friends may attend a visitation at St. John’s Anglican Church Hall, Richmond on Friday, July 12th from 5 pm to 8 pm.
A Masonic service will be held Saturday, July 13th at 11 am followed by a 12pm Memorial service at St. John’s Anglican Church, 67 Fowler Street, Richmond, Ontario. All are welcome.
