It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of William Kelly aged 62 of Petley, Random Island at the Dr. G.B Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Sunday, May 26, 2024.
Predeceased by his mother Margaret Kelly, brother David, sister Elizabeth, brothers-in-law Barry Watton and Sonny Brake. Uncles Steven, Lesley and Eldon Bailey, Frank, Donald and Wallace Kelly and his Aunts Elizabeth, Julia Pike, Beluah Purchase, and Bina Watton.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his father Gordon Kelly, sister Joy Watton (Bob), brother Chris Kelly (Julie) and sister in-law Irelene Kelly. His aunts Daisy (Cindy), Gertie (Bert-deceased), Clara (Lawrence-deceased), Violet Bailey (Timothy-deceased), Betty Sheppard (Lowell-deceased), and his uncles Norm (Vicki), George (Grace-deceased), Garry (Kathy), and George Pike (Wanda). His nephews and nieces Sheldon (Cheryl), Johnathon, Tiffany (Andrew), Dylan (Michaela), Devon (Natasha), Stephanie, Kimberly (Draper), Sarah (Jeremy), Shane (Kourtney), and Brittany (Trent) along with a large circle of extended family and friends.
William was well known by many as Bill or Willy. He moved away from home at a young age and spent many years living and working in Fort McMurray, Alberta. He was a kind man with a generous heart and carefree nature, his door was always open to anyone traveling to Alberta who needed a place to stay. He moved back home to Newfoundland and worked at Golden Shell Fisheries. Bill was a very private and independent man and enjoyed spending time collecting stamps, coins and other items. He also loved going for walks and enjoying the outdoors. He loved traveling and would often enjoy trips down south or to other parts of the world.
His death has taken his family and friends by surprise and the shock will remain with us all for some time to come. Bill’s memory will live on and he will be forever missed.
Funeral service and arrangements will be announced at a later date.
