July 14, 1935 – August 13, 2024
It is with great sadness, the Oegema Family announces the passing of their beloved Mom. Willy passed peacefully in her sleep at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital after many shared family moments around her bedside, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
Willy Oegema, nee van der Galien, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Tamme Oegema, dear mother of Bartelo (Sue), Richard (Connie), Ed (Lisa), Anita, Earl and Susan.
Cherished Oma to Nicole (Kyle), Thomas (Laura), Kayla, Megan (Matt), Cody, Keegan, Ashley, Mandy, Randy, and Dustin. And Groete Oma to Charlie Marie, Myah Ann, Selena, Scarlett and Amber.
Dear half-sister to Maynard van der Galien and Anita Salaytah.
Willy is predeceased by her two sons, Lloyd and Roger; grandson, Dakota; sister Hilly; half-sister, Joyce; her parents, Rikkert van der Galien and Aaltjee de Boer; and her stepmother, Hendrika Bos.
Special thanks to those who took such great care of Willy in her final days and years at RVH, Groves Park Lodge and Quail Creek. She held you close in her heart.
Visitation will be at the Hebron Christian Reformed Church, 431 Albert Street, Renfrew on Sunday, August 18th, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00pm. There will be a visitation on Monday morning from 10:00am until a Celebration of Life held at 11:00 am. Luncheon to follow in the church basement. A private family interment will be held at Thomsonville Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew.
