July 27, 1930 – August 8, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wilfred James Maloney on Thursday August 8th, 2024 at the Cornwall Community Hospital at the age of 94. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn (nee McDonald) (2021). Dear father of Brian Maloney (Bernadette) of Peterborough, Barry Maloney (Nancy) of Calgary, Carol Anne Maloney of Williamstown and Kevin Maloney (Sherri) of Lakefield. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Michael, Brandon, Kathryn, Lesley, Laura, Jennifer, Sean and Christopher and great-grandfather of 10. Wilfred is survived by his siblings Sr. Hilda Maloney, Gerald Maloney (Marie), Hazel MacDonald (Gerald), Catherine Konink (Peter), Stuart Maloney (Denise). Predeceased by his parents Mathew and Stella Maloney (nee O’Keefe), great-grandson William Holmes, siblings Marie Beaudette (late Percy), Bernard (Berna), Oris Beaudette (late Bert), Inez Cameron (Grant) and Bert Maloney. Wilfred was an avid gardener and was a member of the Williamstown Horticultural Society. He was retired from Domtar Fine Papers. Special thanks are extended to the staff of the Cornwall Community Hospital.
Wilfred’s family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street (613-938-3888) on Thursday August 15th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday August 16th at Blessed Sacrament Parish at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Andrew’s West Cemetery.
