Wilfred «Keith» Mahaney, born on June 11,
1936, passed away peacefully at Shoreham Village in Chester on June
21, 2024 at the age of 88.
Keith was the eldest son of the late Wilfred and Catherine
(Keith) Mahaney. He grew up in Coldbrook, NS with his brother
Donald.
In his younger years, Keith spent a lot of time on the ice,
playing hockey and refereeing. His love of sports continued into his
adult life where he spent many hours watching his favourite sports
teams on TV.
Keith had numerous jobs over the years eventually retiring
from the Dept. of Highways in Berwick where he was employed for
several years. He enjoyed his retired life in Lake George with his
wife Kathy, spending time with family and friends, raising chickens
and peacocks, playing cards and his trips to Tim Hortons to catch up
on the news.
Keith is survived by his brother Donald (Shelley), Lower
Branch; nephews Marty and Chris; nieces Carrie, Kaitlin and Jenna;
stepdaughter Edwina; daughter Pam.
A special thank you to the staff at Shoreham Village, where
Keith called home for the last few years. He enjoyed his time there so
much and we are forever grateful.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no service as per
his wishes. A private interment will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
