It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Wilbert, surrounded by his loving family on June 12, 2024 at 96 years of age. Wilbert was born in Pigeon Hill, New Brunswick, on September 23, 1927, to Alphonse and Louisa Larocque. He was one of 9 children, the late Fedora Tremblay (late Roland), Janita Godin (late Roger), the late Georgeline, the late Amedee, the late Dina Gaudet (late Marcel), the late Norbert, Raymond (Mary-Lou) and Ron (Kelly). In 1950, he married his wife Anita Larocque (nee Lavergne) with whom he shared 74 years of marriage. Wilbert was the proud father of James (Claire), Bob (Joanne), Don (Cindy), Tom (Sara), Dennis (Cheryl), Mark (Edith), Janine Roberts (Alan), and David (Gisele). Beloved Pepe of Nicole (Charles), Jim (Eleanor), Ryan, Lisa, Jamie (Lisa), Mandy (Luciano), Michael (Lina), Matthew (Nina), Melissa (Lucas), Colette (Tim), Monique, Scott, Kristen (Grant), Bradley (Josh), Jeremy (John), Dillon, Bobby (Samantha), Andrew (Nicola), David (Katie) and Lilah. Treasured Great Pepe of Alicia, Noah, William, Macie, Lauren, Emma, Theo, Leo, Nora, Sonny, Callum, Owen, Calvin, Riley, Liam, Finn, and Jack. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Wilbert was a dedicated employee of Detroit Edison for 42 years. Following his retirement, he volunteered as a driver for the Canadian Cancer Society. Wilbert and Anita enjoyed many winters in Daytona Beach where they made many lifelong friends and enjoyed numerous visits from family. He also enjoyed his annual summer visits to New Brunswick where he filled countless coolers with fish to bring home and enjoy with family.
Wilbert was a devout Catholic and spent many years attending Holy Rosary and Ste. Anne’s Parishes. He will always be remembered for his love of GM vehicles, especially Cadillacs and the great pride he took in maintaining his vehicles to showroom condition.

Visitation will take place at Families First, 1065 Lauzon Rd, 519-969-5841 on Sunday June 16, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.
On Monday, June 17, 2024, relatives and friends are invited to meet directly at Ste. Anne’s Church (12233 Tecumseh Rd. East) for Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.
Cremation and private family interment to follow.
In memory of Wilbert, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Windsor Es County or to the Charity of Your Choice.
