With great sadness and many broken hearts we announce the passing of Wes Irwin, on August 31, 2023 at the age of 49 years. He passed while being surrounded by his closest friends and family.
Wes was born May 4, 1974 in High River, Alberta and grew up on the family farm in Cayley, where he was taught the ropes by his grandfather (Tom Irwin) and his uncles.
Wes’s pride and joy was his children Kya (19) and Jesse (17). He loved spending time with his horses, roping and being in the mountains. Wes had a way with words and was known to write a good tune, make us all laugh and could light up a room. He invested his time in lacrosse with Jesse and prided himself on his workmanship, work ethic and values. Wes always appreciated his daughter Kya’s artwork and her elaborate baking skills. He was so proud of his children and was honoured to be their father.
A beautiful pink sunset with the backdrop of the rocky mountains was always cherished by Wes and he would always take time to enjoy the full moons and starlight skies. He was always the first to lend a hand, stand up for those who couldn’t and protect those he loved.
Wes is survived by his children (Kya and Jesse), His uncles Rick (Lee), Mick (April), Randy (Carrie), Kelly and Aunt Cindy.
Wes was predeceased by his mother Darlene, and grandparents Eunice and Tom.
Wes was loved by all and will be sadly missed.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in trust for Kya and Jesse’s future at the High River ATB branch.
