Obituary of Wendy Wood
Our family is sad to announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Wendy Wood (nee Matthews) on December 27, 2024.
Wendy had family by her side after suffering a sudden stroke.
Her children Susan McQuade (Michael), Trevor (Sharon), and grandchildren Krista (Cole), Matthew, Carter and Ashton are eternally grateful for her unconditional love and support.
Born and raised in London, Ontario, Wendy was the daughter of Walter and Edna Matthews. She will be dearly missed by her sister Gayle Redgwell and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Wendy married the love of her life, Terence George Wood in London in September,1962. They created a beautiful life together enjoying travel, family time and summer picnics on Friday afternoons until Terry’s passing in May 2019. Wendy’s grandchildren were her pride and joy and she was the greatest supporter of their activities be it dance, sports or drama.
Wendy was a loyal and devoted employee of the Township of Goulbourn recreation department for 20 years. In that time she formed many lifelong friendships. Wendy was also a dedicated member and volunteer of St John’s Anglican Church.
We are at peace knowing Wendy has been reunited with Terry.
Wendy’s arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the Pilon Family Funeral Home, Arnprior.
As per Wendy’s wishes, internment and a family service will be held at a later date. Donations in Wendy’s memory can be made to St. John’s Anglican Church, 67 Fowler Street in Richmond, Ontario, K0A 2Z0.
