It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wendy James, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. Wendy passed away peacefully on May 9th 2023 at the age of 76.
Wendy was born on March 4th 1947 in Digby, Nova Scotia to Aubrey and Louise Adams and grew up in Smith’s Cove. She graduated from Digby High School and pursued a career as a nurse, ultimately transitioning into the Canadian Armed Forces as an Army Nursing Officer.
Throughout her life, she touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.
As a mother, Wendy was the heart and soul of her family. She devoted herself fully to her children, providing them with love, guidance, and support every step of the way. She was a tireless caregiver who always put the needs of her family first. Her unwavering devotion to her family will be missed.
Wendy was also an active member of the religious community, notably as founder and Superior of the order, The Servants of the Sacred Cross, and also founder and mentor of The Companions of Our Lady and Saint John Association. Wendy found comfort in volunteering her time and talents to help those who shared her deep faith. She worked tirelessly to make a positive impact on the world around her. Her dedication and selflessness were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Wendy will be deeply missed by her family and friends, including her loving husband Terry; children, Ian (Shelley), Graham (Joanna) and Amanda (Craig); Grandchildren, Erin (Cam), Adam (Alisha), Emma and Ben and great grandchildren Theo and Oliver as well as her many colleagues and acquaintances. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
The family wishes to acknowledge the warm heart felt care Wendy received during her stay at the Valley Hospice.
A funeral service will be held 11am, Tuesday May 16, 2023, from St Louis Catholic Church, Annapolis Royal, with Father Raymond officiating. Private family burial following.
