It is with Heavy Hearts we announce the peaceful passing of a gentle soul Husband, Father, Uncle, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, Weldon Anderson Stoyles.
Weldon is predeceased by his Mother Pretoria(Tucker), and Father Skipper Dave (Stoyles), Brothers John, Ellison, and sisters Susie, and Ethel.
Weldon was born in Hillview and as a young boy he started his career sailing on the W.J Ellison with his father Skipper Dave. He later moved out west, had a family and returned home to retire and met his wife Violet.
Weldon was a kind, gentle soul who touched the lives of many family, friends and acquaintances. He enjoyed his retirement living by the salt water where he grew up. He was an active member of Grace United Church where he enjoyed singing in the Men’s Choir and playing his guitar. In his later years he became unwell and he treasured his visits from family and friends.
Leaving to mourn are his wife Violet of 18 years, Son John(Laurette), Stepchildren Alan(Wendy), Peter(Melinda), Rick (Irene), Karen(Lenval), Tony(Sandy), Michelle, Boyd (Shona), Joanne (Kevin), and his nephew Kevin(MaryAnn) who was like a son to him.
Also leaving to mourn are his grandchildren which were very dear to his heart,
Charlotte(Chris), Jennifer(Robert), Alan(Natalie), Matthew(Katrina), Jonathan, Alex (Jansen),Ron, Chantal, Emma, Max, Racquel, and a large family of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, with special mention to nephews Wes(Ivy), and Niece, Daphne(Cyril).
The family would like to thank the staff of the Clarenville Retirement Center and the staff at the G.B Cross Memorial Hospital all of which treated Weldon and his family with much compassion and respect during this difficult time.
A celebration of his life and burial will be held this summer (2024).
In the meantime family and friends are invited to visit his wife Violet at the Clarenville Retirement Center over the next few days/weeks as she mourns his loss.
