April 29th, 1945 – January 31, 2024
It is with sadness and so much love we say goodbye to our husband, father, grandfather and brother Wayne Filion who passed away on Wednesday, January 31st, 2024 with his family by his side, Wayne left this world peacefully into the arms of the Lord.
He leaves behind his adored and loving wife, just shy of their 50th wedding anniversary, Marilyn Filion (nee Kennedy). Loving father to Charles and Melissa Filion (David); Proud grandfather to Alexys, Sydnee, Noah, Ivy, and Ellie; loving brother of Joan McGillis; many sisters-in-law brothers-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents Aimee and Noma Filion (nee Lablanc) and by his sister Judy Filion.
For everyone he knew or once met, may you always smile when remembering his contagiously spirited and hearty laugh.
We’d like to express our most sincere gratitude to all of the staff at Maxville Manor. Your unwavering care and compassion were not unnoticed – from the bottom of hearts, we thank you. Aunt Mary, Dad’s cyclist buddy, thank you for being there every day for him and for us. And to the rest of our family for your support over the years, thank you.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 19th, 2024 at Wilson, Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, ON (613-938-3888) from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a celebration of life at the funeral home at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Maxville Manor would be greatly appreciated by the family.
