Obituary
Passed peacefully away, surrounded by his loving family at the Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023, Wayde Higdon of New Harbour, aged 70 years old.
Waiting to welcome him into heaven were his loving Parents, Grant and Margaret Higdon. He is also joined in Heaven by his infant sister Madonna Dianne; and grandparents Lillian and Herbert Higdon and Nellie and Heber Higdon.
Left with precious memories and grateful hearts are his wife Wanda; his children Jeffrey (Christa), Jason (Susan), David (Christina), Stephanie (Matt), and Matthew (Nikki); his grandchildren Luke and Julia; Nicholas, Owen, and Jack; and Brooklyn and Samuel; brothers James (Doreen), Sidney (Greta), Lyndon (Sharon), Randy (Brenda), and Rodney (Lori-Anne); sister Donna (Les); sister-in-law Doreen; brother-in-laws Keith (Lorraine) and Perry (Krista); mother-in-law Loretta (Frank); as well as a large extended family of loved nieces, nephews, and cousins, in addition to numerous friends.
We would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Placentia Health Centre and the Coronary Care Unit at the Health Sciences Centre, in particular Dr. Hall and Dr. Parfrey and nurses Jamie and Julia who gave such excellent and compassionate care.
Wayde was known as a man with a huge and generous heart who was always there for anyone in need, at any time. He was everyone’s go to person for almost everything, and always came through. Every niece and nephew had a favourite uncle, and it was Wayde.
Visitation will be held from Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo, on Friday, January 20th, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 pm. and 6:00 pm. – 9:00 pm.
Funeral service will be held from The Salvation Army Citadel, TBS Corps, on Saturday, January 21st, at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Dildo.
To honour his memory we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund.
