At the age of 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday May 14, 2023, with family by by her side.
Wanda was born in Toronto and resided in the Roncesvalles area for most of her life. Loving wife to her late husband Joseph Andrew, they celebrated 50 wonderful years together there until his passing in 2019. Survived by her daughter Laura (Kyle), son Andrew (Thanuja), and was a dedicated grandmother to her two grandchildren Tristen and Sahana whom she loved dearly. Caring aunt to Richard and Joan.
Wanda was an inspiration to everyone around her, and her kindness was recognized by everyone she met. She loved animals, music of all kinds, travelling, reading a good book and spending time with family and friends. Wanda had an incredible spirit, and an insatiable desire to learn throughout her life. In her early years, she worked in parliament as a secretary, and once motherhood began, she began a part time role with the Mothers Network in Toronto, supporting new mothers in the neighbourhood. Wanda was also a talented artist who loved to sketch, a skilled piano player, and enjoyed all aspects of nature and the outdoors.
Thank you to all of the Nurses, Personal Support Workers, Recreationists, and all other carers of Wanda, who treated her with dignity and respect, allowing her to live her life with an abundance of peace and joy.
