Obituary For Walter Garfield Ward
Walter Garfield Ward of smith, Alberta, passed away on December 12, 2024, in Grande Prairie at the age of 88.
Walter was born in Grande Prairie to Anne and Alfred on April 26, 1936. He went to school at smith Secondary School and graduated in 1955. He went on to earn a journeyman/master electrician from SAIT. He was a long-standing member of the smith Elks Lodge and smith Legion and an active volunteer in the community.
Walter is survived by his wife Hazel, son Lawrence, daughter Brenda, grandchildren Kimberley, Alissa, Ryan and great grandson Miller, nieces and nephews and their families.
He is predeceased by his brothers Lewis and David, and sister Marion.
Memorial donations may be made to smith Elks No. 284 (Box 251 smith, T0H 3C0), CNIB, or the Grande Prairie Hospital Foundation.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Prairie Lake Hospice and Grande Prairie Regional Hospital staff.
A Celebration of life will be held at Bear Creek Funeral Home on Sunday December 22, 2024, at 1:00 PM.
