Vivian was a courageous loving woman and devoted caregiver for her family every moment of her 88 memorable years.
Vivian was a partner of 41 years of the Late Geatean Deguire. Devoted mother of William Henderson (Cathy Gray) , the late Helenia Barid, Donald Henderson, Mary Henderson (Ray Abel), Patricia Henderson (John Ferguson) and Ernest Henderson (Wendy Monery). Vivian was a loving step-mother for Garry Dequire (Lorraine Deguire) and Debbie Deguire. With love enough for all; Vivian cherished her 19 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Vivian was a sister of the late Malcolm Day, Richard Day, Elizabeth Day-Sequin, the late June Gregoire, the late Donald Day, Theresa Collins, Lawrence Day and Doris Day.
Vivian started her life in Vankleek Hill, Ontario. Her father Earl Day spent time in the Army and upon returning from Service worked as the local handyman. Her mother Theresa Paquette provided for her family as the homemaker. After her mother passed at an early age, Vivian left school early to assist in the daily care of her brothers and sisters. Growing up was a challenge but Vivian did a wonderful job providing a stable environment setting the example of the love of putting others first.
Vivian was married to the late Joseph Henderson in 1954. They started their life in Ottawa, Ontario. In 1974, Vivian became the companion of the late Albert Henderson who was lovingly known as Dad to the children. Vivian raised her family working many jobs in Ottawa until she moved to Mississauga with Gaetean in 1982. After his passing in May of last year she returned to Ottawa.
Vivian’s health demanded considerable care with her spending her last months in Hospital Palliative Care. It was very fitting that she passed peacefully with her children by her side.
Vivian will be remembered on February 03, 2024 at the St Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road, Ottawa. Share memories with the family from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm followed by a Celebration Service from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
Vivian will be interred in the Spring at Notre Dame Cemetery, Montreal Road, Ottawa
