Victoria (Vicky) Semchuk passed away February 25, 2024, at the age of 100 years, at Circle Drive Special Care Home in Saskatoon, SK., which was her home for the last year.
Vicky was born on November 11, 1923, in Dauphin, Manitoba, to Samuel and Annie Dines.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Rose, Marv, Tom, and Len; grandchildren Rhonda (Gil) Syrenne, Elaine, Bill (Shelly) Semchuk, Jodi (Jon) Freeland, and Tammy (Mark) Shimell; thirteen great-grandhildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews (and spouses) from the Merko family.
Vicky was predeceased by her son Victor; parents Samuel and Annie Dines; sister Mary Merko; and brother-in-law Peter Merko.
After retiring from Canadian Linen, in Winnipeg, MB., Vicky really cherished her 24 years living at Sutherland House in Saskatoon, SK.
Mom was a humble person she enjoyed her family and friends and was always content with what she was blessed with. Her door was always open, especially when family was passing through. She called it her “Bed and Breakfast.”
At Vicky’s request there will be no service held. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at Circle Drive Special Care Home for the “awesome care and compassion” given to Mom during her last year’s stay.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
