Vernon Crosby Brown, Jr. Passed away on into eternal glory on August 9, 2023.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 11, 2023, at Succasunna United Methodist Church in Succasunna, NJ at 10:00 AM with a light lunch provided afterwards in the Fellowship Hall. Condolences and memories may be shared at this time.
Vernon was born in Mount Pleasant, PA on March 2, 1936, and passed on August 9, 2023.
Vernon earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 1958 from Juniata College in Huntington, PA. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Army in Germany and was honorable discharged with the rank of SP5. He was then employed by Red and White Supermarket in Greensburg, PA., and from there, he became a Sales Representative for Nabisco. He was then promoted to Nabisco Headquarters in New York City where he held several positions in the Marketing Department, including Merchandising, Product Manager (Ritz Crackers) and Statistical Analysis. After leaving Nabisco, he was employed as a Weights and Measures Field Inspector for Morris County, NJ.
Vernon appeared in the 1972 National Award Volume of Outstanding Young Men of America by the US Jaycees.
Vernon is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Linda Wilkinson Brown; four children, David (and wife Linda), Aimee Jackson, Brian Brown (and wife Erika), and Matthew Brown. He is also survived by his brother, Ken and sister (Linda Neal); seven grandchildren, David, Ethan, Philip and Hallie, Brian, Antonio, and Kayly; one great grandson, Chase; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in the memory of Vernon C. Brown, to the Succasunna United Methodist Church in Succasunna, NJ.
