It is with profound sadness that the family of Vendla (Ven) Castator (Aitchison) announce her peaceful passing on April 16, 2023, in her 95th year while surrounded by family. Ven was born on October 30, 1928, to Norman and Mabel Aitchison (Mitchell) of Woodbridge, Ontario. Her selfless approach to life started early as she supported her father looking after the Aitchison family’s household duties after her mother’s passing. Predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Ray Castator, she will be missed by her children Cathy, Garry (Daisi), and Norm (Wendy) Castator and grandchildren Justin, Amy, Tara Alex, Taylor, and Ryan. Her surviving sibling Ann, brother-in-law Bill Castator and many nieces and nephews, and local family friends forever remember her as a wonderfully positive influence on their lives. Ven’s nurturing skills were on full display in her hobbies tending to the garden and growing ornamental plants. Later in life, she began golfing and enjoyed playing a round with friends and family. She was a hardworking, and caring person who positively impacted everyone she met.
In accordance with her wishes, in place of a funeral service, there will be a celebration of life to be arranged at a future date.
