Obituary
Valentyna passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the age of 99.
Valentyna is now reunited with her beloved husband of 68 years, Volodymyr Korsh (2010) and her son Vadym Korsh (2014), along with many extended family members and friends from Canada and Ukraine.
Born in Kyiv, Ukraine 24 October 1923. Through many difficult life events, she met, fell in love and married her husband of 68 years. They emigrated to Canada with two small sons in 1952. They settled in Toronto and became active members of St. Volodymyr Cathedral and involved members of ODUM (Ukrainian Democratic Youth Association). Valentyna although adjusting to her new life in Canada and learning a new language she managed to appreciate the small joys in life. Her greatest joy was her family with wonderful celebrations and the feasts prepared with love.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her son William (Natalie nee Tarasiuk), daughter in law Natalie (nee Krasilowez), grandchildren Mark (Julia), Andrew, Stephen (Janelle) and her great-grandchildren Carmelo and Gwendolyn.
The family would like to thank the staff of Ivan Franko Nursing Home for their compassion and care over the last several years.
Friends will be received at the Cardinal Funeral Home “Annette Chapel” on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 11 am to 12:45 pm. A private liturgy will be held for the family.
In lieu of flowers as expressions of sympathy, donations can be made the Alzheimer Society of Canada, Ukraine Foundation of a Ukrainian Relief Fund of your choice.
