“But now [she] is dead, wherefore should [we] fast? can [we] bring [her] back again? [We] shall go to [her], but [she] shall not return to [us]” (2 Samuel 12:23).
Twila Grace Harder, who was born to Peter and Tina (Dyck) Harder on August 30, 2023, died at the age of 10 months and 15 days in the Toronto Hospital for Sick Kids on July 14, 2024, while hoping for a liver transplant.
She will be greatly missed by her parents, Peter and Tina, and 8 siblings: Eva 20, Daniel 18, Abram 16, Jacob 13, Jonathan 11, Maryann 9, Zerlina 6, Dorcas 4.
Twila will be fondly remembered by her maternal great-grandparents, both sets of grandparents, 67 cousins, 14 aunts, 13 uncles, and many, many nurses and doctors who loved her ready smiles and her calmness and patience.
She was preceded in death by one uncle on her mother’s side and by two aunts and three uncles on her father’s side of the family.
Viewings will be held at the Ostrander’s Funeral Home at 43 Bidwell St., Tillsonburg, ON from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and again from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19. The funeral will be held, the Lord willing, Saturday, July 20, at 1 p.m. at the Calton Conservative Mennonite Church, 6732 Richmond Rd., Aylmer, ON, with interment at the Richmond Cemetery.
