Tracy Dawn Youck, age 52, of Regina, SK passed away unexpectantly on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, with her family at her side. Tracy was born on December 23, 1970, to Wilbur and Irene Wideman in Regina. After Tracy graduated from Luther Highschool in 1988, she went on to study Education at the University of Regina and Trois Rivieres in Quebec.
After graduating with a degree in Education, she started her work as a French Immersion teacher, and later a Teacher Librarian with the Regina Public School Division. Tracy enjoyed a thirty-year teaching career with plans for retirement only three short months away. Tracy was a true professional, dedicated to enriching the lives of her students and sharing her expertise by mentoring young teachers. She was very creative and spent hours developing engaging lessons for her students. Her impact as a teacher is beyond measure and will continue to be felt for many, many years.
Tracy met James Youck after an introduction from James’ mother, Lynn Youck. Tracy and James married in July of 2000, and spent many wonderful years travelling and enjoying life together, as well as spending time with friends and family.
Tracy enjoyed researching and planning travel adventures with James. She found the most wonderful places for them to stay surrounded by incredible experiences. When not travelling, she loved spending summers making her yard a beautiful oasis—an oasis in which she welcomed so many family and friends. We will all miss toasting with an Aperol Spritz on her deck.
Tracy was a bubbly, happy, and beautiful person with a brilliant, infectious smile. Her positive attitude touched the lives of everyone she met. She was a bright light and will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Tracy’s heart knew no bounds, and her capacity to care for everyone and love deeply will always be remembered.
Tracy was predeceased by her mother, Irene Wideman; and her father-in-law, Elmer Youck. She is survived by her husband, James Youck; her father, Wilbur Wideman; her brother, Kent Wideman; her mother-in-law, Lynn Youck; her sister-in-law, Andrea Youck; nephew, Adam (Amy and grandniece Elyse); nephew, Ben; niece, Charlotte; sister-in-law, Rosann Youck (Jeff Giesbrecht); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Conexus Arts Centre, 200 Lakeshore Dr, on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Tracy Youck Foundation by visiting www.easydonate.com/youck.
