Tony’s Obituary
Tony Peter Mayowski, lifelong resident and farmer of Nampa began his next journey on Saturday, April 29, 2023, 2 weeks prior to his 92nd birthday. Tony passed away outside, under blue skies, with a light breeze blowing and looking at the East Peace River Hills.
Tony lived a long and good life farming, catskinning, hunting, fishing and golfing. He worked hard alongside his wife Carol to provide for his family. In the winters he spent many weeks and months away from home catskinning for oil companies and contractors clearing leases and building roads to make sure the farm bills were paid and his family was supported. He was also a founding and lifelong member of the Heart River Golf Course. Tony was truly a pioneer in farming having lived through the evolution of farming with horses to self-driving tractors.
Friends and family were important to Tony and he loved having a few drinks and telling stories with whomever was around him. He was a great storyteller and one never really knew how “stretched” the stories he told were. In his later years he enjoyed time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Tony is survived by his wife of 63 years- Carol, children-Dianne, Karen (Jan), Peter, Dawn (Clint), Toni-Ann (Rick)and Joe (Roxanne), 6 grandchildren- Nathan, Arlin, Georgina, Jenna, Matthew, Shawna, Olivia, and great-grandchildren- James, Peyton, Finley and Anders.
He is also survived by his sisters Ethel and Marilynn.
Our heartfelt thanks to the nursing and medical staff at Peace River Hospital Acute Care and to the staff at Heritage Towers for the exemplary care and kindness. Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
