Todd Henderson was born on September 22, 1962, in Chatham, Ontario to his Father Andrew Allan Henderson and Mother Betty Joyce Clark. Todd grew up in the small town of Glencoe, Ontario with his three sisters Heather, Joy, and Brenda along with his only brother Kevin. Growing up Todd largely enjoyed being outside and being active by playing sports with his two favourites being Ice Hockey and Baseball. At the age of twenty-five Todd married his wife Veronica Wakem whom he loved deeply for thirty-five years. They eventually had two children, their first was his daughter Natasha and their second was his son Andrew. Todd cared profoundly for both his children and would go to any length to ensure his families happiness. Todd took great pride in teaching them valuable skills and life lessons that he gained during his life. He wanted his children to be able to conquer all of life’s challenges on their own and taught them to be independent, strong, reliable, persevering, and optimistic which were characteristics that many saw in him.
Outside of his family, Todd was extremely passionate about his career being a Power Line Technician for Ontario Hydro, Vaughan Hydro, and B.C. Hydro. Never once did Todd wake up and resent the day ahead, he loved his job and took his profession seriously. Over his career he had a large impact by teaching incoming Journeymen and Apprentices and passed on any knowledge he held. Near the end of his career Todd was determined to become a manager for B.C. Hydro which he accomplished months before he passed. He leaves behind a band of brothers who embraced him and cared for him deeply.
Apart from his family and career, Todd’s pride and joy was his lawn and overall household aesthetic. Todd would work diligently and meticulously on his lawn and garden ensuring that it met his standards. His family will always remember how much time he would spend caring for his grass and plants as he would only allow himself to maintain them and would give rigid instructions when allowing his family to help. It was this commitment to detail that allowed his personality to shine and allowed everyone to see the man he was. Someone who took pride in their work, enjoyed the process, took his time to do things right, and could create something beautiful for everyone to enjoy.
Todd will be dearly missed by his wife, children, sisters, and brother. He has left behind a legacy that they will never forget.
