Byrnes, Timothy Kevin (1962 – 2023)
Timothy Kevin Byrnes, 60 of Chelmsford passed away after a short battle with brain cancer. Tim is predeceased by his younger brothers, Terry, and Andrew. He is survived by his parents, Katherine, and Donald Byrnes of Chelmsford. His sisters, Carol of Harriston, Arlene (husband, Mike Pharand of Markstay), Janice (husband, Lee Restorick) of London and Cathy of Chelmsford.
Tim was born in Sudbury. He was the second oldest of seven children and raised on the family farm. He particularly enjoyed the farm life. Tim was a millwright by trade and could build/fix or repair anything. After 30+ years at Falconbridge /Glencore, Tim retired. After retirement, he became passionate about cooking. He took solace in nature (fishing, hunting, harvesting, cutting wood and timber, and picking blueberries). He enjoyed life as the grandson of two very special Pioneer families. Tim ensured that the farm and his elderly parents were looked after and was a great provider.
The family would like to acknowledge Tim’s sister Arlene who cared for not only Tim throughout his illness, but also their brother Andrew who recently passed away from the same illness. The family appreciated the compassion, caring, devotion & thoughtfulness that Arlene demonstrated in both Tim’s and Andrew’s hospital and palliative care. A special thank you to Jeff, Danny, and Doris.
At Tim’s request, there will be no visitation or services to the public. Donations may be made in Tim’s honour to Saint Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre of Sudbury, or to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.
