Died suddenly on Monday, Febuary 19, 2024. After a wonderful morning ice-fishing, and on the way to the Petes Hockey Home game, Tom had a massive heart attack.
Beloved Husband to high school sweetheart Susan (Wellman) Jones for the last 56 years. Best dad ever to Barbara (Darryl), Bonnie (Charlie), Richard (Rachelle) and Rob.
Loving Pa to Sondra, Madison, Victoria (Brenden), Walker (Kat), Apsley and Eamon and Great grandfather to Emma.
Tom was the oldest of 10 children , born to Bill and Betty Jones. Big brother to Mary, Jim (Sylivia), Bernie (Gail), Steve (Melva), Kathy Wade (Tom), Beth Lanouette (Adrian), Maggie Jacox (Patrick), Christine Hogle (Paul), and Angela Johnston (Mike).
Uncle to many wonderful Nieces and Nephews. Loving Brother-in-law to Doug and Linda Wellman and Cousin to Mary Mackay (late Karl) and Lee Ross (Glenn)
Tom grew up in Peterborough surrounded by love and friendship, from family and his beloved Greenhill Subdivision.
Tom and Sue raised their children in Peterborough and moved to Bridenorth in 2000. They embraced living in Bridgenorth with their exceptional neigbours and friends.
Tom worked for Dominion (A&P and Metro) for over 43 years, then ValueMart Bridgenorth.
After his family, fishing and hunting were his passion. He was a dedicated Knights of Colombus member at St. Martin of Tours, active member of the congregation and chairperson of their Parish council.
Tom loved everyone and believed in second chances, for all! We would like to thank everyone who stopped to try to revive Tom, and thank you to Lorie and Bev for being such a comfort at the time.
Tom has left a huge void in our lives and he left beautiful memories.
There will be a Celebration of Tom’s Life held at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Words of Remembrance will be at 6:00 PM
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to the St Martins Knights of Columbus or Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters Youth Fishing Program
