October 27, 1947- February 8, 2023
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Joseph Stack on February 8, 2023, at the age of 75 years. After a recent diagnosis and short-lived illness, he passed away very peacefully and lovingly in the arms of his wife, Rosalind (Bishop), son, Tony Stack (Dana) and daughter, Heather Hefford (Brad), in the comfort of his own home.
He also leaves to mourn “Pop’s” dearly loved and treasured grandsons, Thomas and Lewis Hefford. Also remaining are his sisters-in-law Betty Stack, Eileen Stack and Dianne Milley; nephews Michael Stack, Kenneth Stack (Donna), Aaron Milley (Kathrin) and niece Krista Hinchey, along with many close friends.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents Michael and Gertrude Stack, brothers Frank and Bob Stack; Father-in-law Charlie Bishop, mother-in-law Madeline Bishop and brother-in-law Norman Bishop.
In 1969, Thomas, along with his two brothers, founded Central Office Equipment. A successful family-owned business which is a testament of his business acumen to this very day. In addition, he also engaged in numerous other successful business ventures over the years. Tom was a man of happiness, loyalty, selflessness and kindness.
His greatest passion was spending countless days at his cabin snowmobiling, boating, hunting and fishing with family and friends. Every spare minute he had was spent with his beautiful wife of 51 years, who shared with him a love for the outdoors and time at their cabin. He absolutely adored the children in his life and took advantage of his white beard to dress like Santa and visit them every year!
It was always a pleasure for him to share his self-taught skills and acquired knowledge. Over the years he gained the nickname “Rescue Tom.” He was the first man to call if you needed help. It did not matter whether you were his child, a relative or a friend, he was ready and willing! This willingness earned him the place of a “second” father to many.
He left a permanent, admirable imprint on the lives of everyone that had the honour to meet him, work with him, know him. His legacy is especially evident his grandsons, in whom he shall live on!
Thomas Stack Lived to Love and Loved to Live. We look forward to the next adventure, until we meet again.
