1957-2023
We are heartbroken to
announce that Thomas Doran passed away peacefully surrounded by his
family at his home on January 26, 2023. Born in New Richmond, QC, he
was the son of the late Thomas and Isabelle Doran.
Tom was a team manager
at Nordia for over 20 years, where he was famed for having two rules.
Rule 1: I am always right. Rule 2: See Rule 1. He was well-known and
well-loved across the company. Outside of work, Tom had many passions
including going to the beach, golfing, reading, driving, hockey, and
football, though he loved his grandchildren most of all. He could
usually be found with a newspaper in hand and often had a pair of
binoculars nearby. A man of habit, he spent every Thursday at Dixie
Lee where he would get the 2-for-1 special after 4pm. Thomas had an
excellent sense of humor with a heart of gold and a laid-back
personality and was known to «go without so others
wouldn’t have to». This grace and generosity
extended even beyond those he knew; each Remembrance Day, he would buy
and lay a rose at the grave of each veteran he found in his local
cemetery.
Left to mourn his
absence are his daughter Jenny (Kyle), grandchildren Cody, Myriam, and
Karianne, Jenny’s mother Dianne, brothers Patrick (Faye) and
Michael, several nieces and nephews, and his friends-that-were-family
John and Tabatha Bennett and Tina LeBlanc (Jeannot), along with
uncountable friends and coworkers.
Honoring his wishes,
cremation will take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home and
Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd, Riverview (869-2007). His family
will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Sunday,
February 5, 2023 from 1pm until the time of the service at 2pm.
