In loving memory of Thérèse A. McDonald, née Tétreault, 90 years, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26th, 2024, with loving family at her side. Beloved wife, of 67 years, to Patrick McDonald predeceased in 2021. Loving mother of Patrick (Jenny predeceased), Bruce (Jeannine), Janet (Doug Pickett predeceased), Pauline predeceased (Marcel Gauvreau), Sue-Ellen (Terry Rienguette). Cherished Memère of grandchildren Corey, Kevin (Brandy), Crystal, Natalie (Todd Patterson), Stacey (Cory Gould), Alisha (Scott Timmer), Kathryn (Elio Tomini), Brent (Nicole), Mitchell (Ashley), Sarah (Brendan Morningstar) and great-grandchildren Rudy, Reese, Nolan, Gabriel, Dominic, Kameron, Sophie, Audrey, Caleb, Caiden. Predeceased by her parents Amédée and Mérina (née Dupuis) Tétreault. Dear sister of Hélène Gaudette (late Laurier), Jeannine Turgeon (late Rhéal), Conrad Tétreault (Hélène). Predeceased by her siblings, Roland (late Laurette), Paul (late Simone), Moise (late Hélène), Jeannette (late Moise), Cecile Gour (late Lionel).
Dear daughter-in-law of Frank and Margaret McDonald, both predeceased. Dear sister-in-law to Fred (Monique) both predeceased, Margaret (Jim Fitzsimmons predeceased), Bill predeceased (Rolande), Brian (Fernande), Larry predeceased (Anita), Donald predeceased (Claire), D’Arcy (Carol) both predeceased, David predeceased, Mary Rampado (Edward) and Dolores McDonald predeceased. Aunt Theresa with be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. Thérèse was a very active member of the community. She was involved with St. Mark’s Parish and its Funeral Committee, the Markstay Food Bank, MS Walks, and a board member of Sudbury East Senior Support. She was Deputy Clerk for the Township of Hagar for over 24 years. Thérèse was an accomplished seamstress and baker and loved playing cards and scrabble. As an avid quilter, she had met weekly with her sisters, sister-in-law, and friends to provide cherished family heirlooms for all. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are the honoured recipients of quilts, wall hangings and afghans, all made with love. No visit to our cherished camp on Kukagami Lake would be complete without Memère baking a favourite dessert and playing a game of cards. The family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the entire team at Finlandia Village, Koivu Home for the excellent care that our mother received. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Markstay Food Bank or St. Marc’s Church would be appreciated.
Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9pm Wednesday, June 12, 2024). Funeral Mass in St. Marc’s Church, Markstay on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 1pm. Cremation with interment in the family plot at St. Marc’s Cemetery, Markstay.
