Cassel, Theresa
Peacefully passed away from age related illness on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Royal Terrace LTC, Palmerston at the age of 87 years.
Beloved wife of the late Bill Cassel (December 1, 2013).
Dear mother of the late Debra Powell (November 1, 2016), Dan of Fort St. John, BC, Tom and Wendy of Deroche, BC, Steve and Connie of Durham, the late Frank (May 24, 2023), Phillip and Darlene of Prince George, BC, Bill and Diane of Listowel, Beth Cassel of Palmerston, Jeff and Juanita of Elmira. Lovingly remembered by her 20 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Sister of Jim (Sharon) Diebold, Gladys Metzger (Willie), Grace Young, Bob (Linda) Diebold, Roy (Robin) Diebold, and Wayne Diebold. Theresa will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and their families.
Predeceased by her parents Jerome and Helen (Ray) Diebold, brothers Earl and John, sisters Marie Foerster and Hilda Cassel, brothers-in-law Howard Foerster and Edmund Cassel, and sisters-in-law Brenda and Betty Diebold.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. Funeral mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, 19 Flamingo Dr., Elmira. Interment in St. Joseph’s RC Cemetery, Macton.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Grand River Regional Cancer Center or St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation – Cardiac Care Unit would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home. Special thank you to all the staff at Royal Terrace, Palmerston for the wonderful care.
