Steve, to those who knew and loved him, passed away peacefully at home on December 6th 2023, the day after celebrating his 67th birthday, surrounded by his family.
Left to carry on his legacy of love, Steve is survived by: his wife of 42 years, Sherry, daughters; Sabrina (Jamie), Melissa (Rob), Sara (Paul) and grandchildren; Jessica (Ben), Ava, Wyatt, Brianna, Hayden, Bryn and Grace.
Siblings: Doug (Bonnie), Bruce (Shirley), Dianne (Glen), Don (Val), Jason
(Claudia) and his Uncle Ian (Sharon). In-laws: Kathy, Sandra, Judie (Gene), Richard (Pat), Marlene (Allan), Richard, Randy (Dale), Greg, Sheila (Rick), and many generations of nieces and nephews.
Steve was predeceased by his parents: Ted and Lorraine, In-laws, John and Ann; brothers in law, Dwight and Wes, sister in law, Brenda; nephew Christopher and niece Jessica.
Steve was born and raised in Saskatoon. He attended North Park Elementary and City Park Collegiate where he enjoyed photography, curling and bird watching. He also gained his appreciation for antique vehicles from his Uncle Ian who was a member of the Draggins Rod and Custom Car Club. At the age of 17, Steve purchased his first classic vehicle, a 1940 Plymouth, which led to him joining the Draggins in 1977.
In the late 1970’s, he followed his passion of photography and started working at F-11 Photographic Design, where he met the true love of his life Sherry. Steve and Sherry were married on June 19th, 1981. There was nothing that made Steve more proud than his three beautiful daughters and seven wonderful grandchildren. Their unconditional love brought an abundance of joy into his life.
Steve belonged to the Saskatchewan Professional Photographers Association (SPPA) and the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC), where he received his Masters of Photographic Arts. He belonged to the Usadians, a business networking club where he made lifelong friends.
Steve was a friend to everyone, loved to talk and was very animated in his stories, sound effects and all. His smile was infectious. Steve was always kind and available to lend a helping hand. He loved nothing more than to gather with family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wei and Dr. Graham for their care throughout his battle with Lewy Body Dementia. The care received from Dr. Walker and the Palliative Care Team was more than words can express. Thank you to SaskAbilities for supplying the special needs equipment that enabled him to live his life to the fullest.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SaskAbilities at www.saskabilities.ca .
A celebration of Steveʼs life will be held at 1pm on December 18th at Saskatoon Funeral Home – 338 4th Avenue North
